Made with love by Lefthandedtoo
By the side of the road
The night falls heavy
At the end of the day
But I’m not afraid, I’m not afraid
And I’m not counting all the mistakes I’ve made
All the best laid plans of mice and men have got washed away
Some people get crucified but I’m gonna die in a ditch by the side of the road
And I’ll lie in the dirt without a mouth full of spit
To quench my dying thirst
And no formaldehyde and no shallow grave or third rate tombstone to shelter me
By the side of the road
Speed won’t kill you
It’s the sudden stop but I can’t slow down, I can’t slow down
And a bullet won’t kill you
It’s the hole that it makes
But that’s the only cure I know for a mind turned sour and a body that aches
Some people get killed by cars but I’m gonna die on my back looking up at the stars
Noone’s gonna save my soul
Keep your religion for hardworking Christians
And mathematicians
Weighing good against bad because
I’m gonna die in a ditch by the side of the road, by the side of the road
